Nvidia 1050 vs 1050 Ti – Laptop Graphics Comparison Benchmarks

In this video I’ll compare the performance difference between two laptops running an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti. The 1050 Ti has a higher clock speed and more cuda cores, but how does this affect gaming performance? Although the regular 1050 Ti is more powerful, how much better is it for gaming, and is it worth paying extra for in a laptop? I’ll perform some gaming benchmarks and see how well each graphics card does in a series of tests to help you choose between the 1050 or 1050 Ti for your next laptop.

In this test we’ll be benchmarking the following games:
PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG)
Rise of the Tomb Raider
Watch Dogs 2
The Witcher 3
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon
Shadow of War
Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation
DOOM
Battlefield 1

  1. So if a game I play dose 50FPS on my laptop.
Your Asus Laptop with the GTX 1050 ti will only do at best 55FPS or so.
Not much of a difference now if you OC that GTX 1050 ti to the limit obviously the performence will be the same gap of about 17% ( also depends if you got a silicon winner like I did.). But that's decides the point I was wondering if you can OC a GTX 1050 4GB card on a laptop can it reach identical performence to a stock 1050 ti? I just want to hear your thought's about it.
Who knows maybe you can test it for fun.

  2. Jerrod's do you think a GTX 1050 can match a GTX 1050 ti?
When I did the math its about 10% difference in performence 😀 If you wonder how I achieved it on a notebook simple OC to the limit.
Obviously a OC GTX 1050 ti will pull ahead ,but that's decides the point 😀
5 855 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050(1x) and Intel Core i7-7700HQ Processor

    Physics Score

  3. sorry if this question is little bit late, but which one configuration is better

    i5-9300h + 1050 (rog g531gd)
    or
    i7-8300h + 1050ti (Legion y530)

both have 4gb memory but the 1050 one have better screen panel

I will use it as an editing device and a little bit of gaming like pubg and Apex

    thankyou

  4. My G3-572 i5 7300HQ 1050ti 32gb hyperx 2666 performs really awesome cant complain it runs anything i throw at it (of couse undervolted and repasted with kryonaut) even latest games on ultra run fine really happy with this beast 🙂 and @Jarrod's Tech awesome comparison video just cleaned and repasted a nitro 5 with kryonaut today with an i5 8th gen and a 1050 4gb and its not bad at all just needs an ssd and more ram (only has 8gb dual channel and itb hdd running the OS so a bit slow drive wise and ram wise) apart from that almost same performance as mine on games

  5. I'm planning to buy the Acer Nitro 5. But if I pay $800 for the model with the 1050 TI, I get an Intel Core i5-8300H, but paying $650 for current price on sale with a normal GTX 1050, I get an Intel Core i5-9300H. Should I get a better graphics card or a better processor?

  6. I might need to get a laptop soon and i found 2.
Lenovo IdeaPad 330-ICH and Acer Nitro 5 AN515-52 with i5 8300H, 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD in both of then.

    Lenovo one has 1050 4GB
Acer has 1050 TI 4GB and is 200 bucks more expensive.

    Which one should i get?

  7. Definitely not worth the extra 130 gpb.
They are far too similar, most people can't go on ultra or even full high settings. So no, is not 30% better, in teh real world where people play 2 or 3 different games tops, it might be half of that 🙂

Either way cheers for the video.

  8. i got the acer nitro 5 core i5 8th gen and gtx 1050 4gb, i bought it on sale for 750 euro,s now the gtx 1050 ti version of the same laptop is 750 euro,s well the 1050 is good enoough for me tho haha, the difference is not so big between the Ti version 😀

  9. Hi again! I'm back to get some clarifications. My laptop with the same GPU, the 1050 TI and i7 7700HQ which is a ASUS ROG STRIX GL553VE, is my 1050 Ti a Mobile considering it being in a Laptop? Thank you!

  10. I plan on getting a gaming laptop as long as it's under 700$, any recommend gaming laptops at that price? Also I might get the acer nitro 5 but I can tell if it's worth it to pay 100$ more to get the ti then just the normal gtx 1050

Me podrían dar alguna referencia o alguna indicación

  12. I would simply recommend to skip 1050Ti, its 20% faster then 1050 and 20% more expensive, that sounds nice and fair, but since way more people are looking for 1050Ti and already own it, it will be even more expensive, at some countries its already too expensive to cover its power, its like paying 50% more, for 20% more power.
So, if you are not too much into the gaming, 1050 with 4GB is fine with i7 8th or 9th gen, since Intel are pushing, nVidia leads, same as laptop manufacturers, so 1050 may get even cheaper. And if you aim for gaming, then jump directly on 1060, or wait for prices to go down because of RTX.
